Vacuum canister to Electronic advancement switch
Vacuum canister to Electronic advancement switch

I have a Chevy 63C10 with a 250cid powered by a 560cfm 2 barrel TBI using the 7747.
Is it possible to go Electronic for advancement of timing on the dizzy from the current set-up I have now, which is the vacuum canister. It is being utilized to take care of the advancement for the timing.
Is there a post someone can lead me too...I tried a search but got nowhere near my deal...

In a word, yes.
The 747 has timing control built in.
Now, I don't know what the deal is with the V6 vs L6. Some GM 6's are odd fire and some are even fire. Maybe the only difference is the dizzy cap. I donno.
Best thing, as far as I can see, is for you to contact the folks that supplied your kit.

Thanks for your response hometown.
That's a 10-4 on contacting Howell.
I prefer letting the ECM do the advancement. (On a side note, I just installed a 2004R, can the trans be wired to the ECM so that I don't have to use the TV cable? The only thing is, the electronics are inside, built inside the casing...)
I have Howell's Service manual. I'll study that and see if there is any info in dem pages...
Muchas Gracias...

You will have to use the TV cable. Make sure you have the proper geometry for the cable pull at the throttle body or you could shorten the trannys life. If you search the www there are some diagrams with the measurements.
The only thing the ECM controls in those trans is the converter lockup.

The TV cable is in an akward geometry because of the L6's nature. I hope it doesn't burn my trans...
Thanks for your help Brent...
