Question on heads

For about $750 i could buy a set of new torquer 305s or for $375 there is a set of reworked heads on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1876456477
My question is are both of these sets of heads about equal when it comes to performance?

I would'nt even consider the heads on ebay. I would keep looking or spring for the World heads. If you are on a budget like me you could always get some TPI heads or some 416's and port them yourself. That is what alot of people recomend on this site. I just bought some 416's from a guy for $20. It seems everybody thinks 305 heads suck, I even thought the same thing till I became a member of this site.

That price for the S/R Torquer 305s sounds high. I paid 621.95 for mine through Jegs.

Those are the 187 casting on Ebay. Exactly the same heads that come stock with the notorious 'swirl ports' you'll always hear bad things about.
