Vortec Swap Finally Done!!!
Well after about 20 hrs of grease monkeying my Vortec head, LT1 cam, Edelbrock Performer RPM swap is done.
I still have some bugs to work out and I havent had a chance to hook up the WINALDL to get some tuning numbers for Chip burning. It runs real smooth now, but I have no low end torque. I hope that can be fixed with prom work. Once I hit 3200 RPM's she pulls real hard. Plus I might have a little exhaust leak at the collectors, they wouldn't bolt back together right. Headers are next anyway.
If anybody has any tips or reasons to my no low torque problem that would be very helpfull.
Thanks

Torque is mostly timing unless you're running lean. Rich never feels "bad" unless the motor is knocking.
If you're using the stock chip then it's gonna be the timing. Just to get half way decent driving I had to advance the base timing to 12 with the stock eprom! I don't advise doing this because you'll be running too much timing under cruising speeds. It's strange, the better cam, heads, intake will want more timing sooner in the rpm range but will need less timing in general to make it's best torque. It's why timing is so critical to tuning the fuel tables. Just a few changes in timing can cause your fuel tables to be far from accurate.
