Question about 93 sierra 5.7 tbi motor

I am thinking about swapping in a 93 Sierra tbi motor into my jeep and heard you guys here were the tbi experts.

My first question, does a 93 model year tbi motor have any weird quirks I should know of? I used to have a tbi motor in my 88 fullsize jimmy, would these essentially be the same system?

Secondly, The motor comes with the computer controlled auto 4l80e or something, I would be running a 700r4. Is this going to throw the computer off and cause problems?

And thirdly, does anyone have any scanned pics of the wiring schematic for this year of motor?

thanks

Ryan

I thought that the only trucks that had 4L80E's that year were 454 trucks and the smallblock trucks got 700's. You might want to check into that again. I could be wrong though.

Same basic set-up as your '88.
In '93 the trucks got the 4L60E with the 5.7, basically a computer controlled 700R4. I'm not sure if you need to switch to an earlier than '93 computer or juct a chip change. Perhaps someone else on the board would know that.

Use the 1227747 computer on your jeep to run the 93 Motor. The 93 computer will get pissed off if you try to run a 700R4 instead of the 4L80E or 4L60E whichever the 93 actually had. You may have some problems with the TPS and IAC sensor on the 93 matching a 88-91 1227747 wiring harness. The trucks used different sensor connectors through the years of TBI.

My 1993 chevy 2500 with the 5.7 has the 4L80E in it.
