Dart Heads Questions

What difference will I see between a pair of 165 and 200 intake runner length? both 2.02 iron eagles, just about $400 differnece in price. looking at the 64cc in both, just dont know what runner length to get and what difference would be. Thanks in advance for the info.

You have got it turned around. The 165cc or 200cc is intake port volume not length. The smaller the volume the faster the intake charge ie.(air/fuel mixture) will enter the cylinder. It really depends on how your engine is equiped. The 165's would be a good head for a stock to mild 305 or 350. The 200's would be better for a wild 350 to mild 383 or larger small block. The larger the port the slower the intake charge, but at the same time giving more flow at higher rpms. These heads on the same mild 350sb would have the small port heads making good low to midrange power with a decent top end, the bigger port heads would make decent midrange and great top end power and a loss in the lower rpm ranges.
