Looking at Intakes
Ok, I'm looking into all the intakes out there for my new engine swap now. I'm thinking so far that the Edelbrock Performer TBI would be the best bet for good performance and good fit and everything, but I'm thinking it might not be enough for this motor and I'd like to get as much power out of it as possible while fitting under the stock hood. Also, I need to be emissions legal so egr provisions would be best. The engine is an '89 L98 longblock, I will give the heads a 3-angle valve job and have headers with a full exhaust on there. Any suggestions what the best intake for this setup would be to get me some real good power?

I realize this intake stuff has been gone over a lot but I haven't seen much about a combo like the one I'm planning. You guys know about the power band of this engine more than I do so I'm just lookin for the best possible intake to take advantage of the power band range I should have with it?

If you are going to use your stock tbi, and the L98 cam, The performer TBI is probably a good choice for the rest of your combo. It installs easy, is only 1/4" taller then stock, and would use the same egr valve. You will need bigger injecters.

Yeah, I had planned on buying some of the 65pph injectors and just doing the ultimate tbi mods on my throttle body unit, I figure that should support the power well enough.
Also, I want this to be a good, fast street car that I occasionally take to the strip to race a little. Basically I'm not sure where I want the power to be, I was hoping you guys would suggest the best place to make the power with this setup. I'm guessing that probably midrange power would be best for this setup but I would like it to be able to rev a little too, it's a big difference driving my car redlining at 5k and my father's Acura redlining at about 7k. I do like the low-end grunt though that I've got, but what do you guys think would be the best place for power in this type of setup for mostly a street machine?
