two quick questions:
1.which side of the block does the knock sensor go on?
2. can I use the 6 3/4 inch balancer that came off my 305 on my '88 LO5 350 block or do I need an 8" one like the one that came off the 350?

well, according to Summit racings 6 3/4" balancer, it can be used 262-400ci internally balanced small blocks. So im guessing that you should be able to reuse it, but this is just a guess.

 

If I'm not mistaking I think the 305 balancer is a light weight one not the one you would find on a 350. I would just use the one that came on the 350 if it is in good shape. If not get a new one from Summit or Jegs.
