So I'm putting in new spark wires...

I'm pulling out the 1st spark wire...I dont know how old the spark wires are,but they were OLD! Anyway I'm right away noticing a horrible header burn on it...I flex the wire a little bit and it just disindigrated in my hand!

Turns out the old wires were all burned and brittle...I just put some cheap $18 accel 7mm's in...actually I have got 2 of them so far on before the sun went down. Anyway I think it will be interesting to see if the car acts any different after getting new wires.

Also, has anyone used Accel wires before? I guess I have to buy some sort of a crimping tool to properly seat the connection to the distributor cap...pain in the ***...

If they were burned good enough they'll ground to the headers and you'll notice a great difference with new wires. Make sure you zip tie or use wire looms to get those wires away from the header tubes it only takes a few hrs or so to burn through a touching wire(maybe less).

edit: I just bought some 8mm accel wires, you can probably get away with good plier skills or buy a cripper (~$8-12) I don't remember the price.

I ran the Accel 8mm's too, they were OK. I have a set of Moroso's that are going on over spring break.
