CFI Manifold
I always hear everyone talking about different intake manifolds, but I looked around and I can't seem to find any information in the magazines for crossfire 305's..except for that crossram that only offers high end torque but i WANT all the low street trq.
Can anyone please tell me if like edelbrock has a cf intake manifold. or which other companies have good ones for this application.

crossram
that X-ram seems too good to be true. Is it really a good improvement compared to old. Well I guess I have no option because it seems like the only aftermarket cfi manifold is a crossram.
But all in all the crossram, from what the website says, is a big improvement from the old manifold.
How would this combo work(approx. hp gain) compared to the stock setup
- crossram manifold
- ultimate tbi(shaving w/spacer)
- 3 inch straight exhaust throughout(headers)
- dual open element k&n
- no AC and no air

You have quite a few more options than the X-ram. The X-ram is an adapter that enables you to use the stock TBI's on a low profile single plane manifold and still close the hood. On a 305 you can expect about 15-20 rwhp if you keep the rest of the engine stock. The x-ram is NOT an cross-ram manifold like the stock one.
You can modify the stock manifold for silmilar gains. If you want more you have to improve exhust / heads and cam too.
If you want to talk to the Cross-Fire experts then visit the site I posted.

so what you're saying is that the x-ram is only an adapter for the offenhauser crossram intake manifold if you want to keep th estock tbi's?
if so then how much hp over stock can this setup get.

No, that is not what I am saying.
Stock Cross-Fire manifold:

The milled down WEIAND X-celerator manifold and an adapter makes an x-ram:

Then you have other Cross-Rams that are similar to the Cross-Fire in design.
Offenhauser with custom lid:

Edelbrock STR-10 is similar to the Offenhauser:

You also have the Edelbrock SY1 with a custom lid.

thanks alot for the other manifold pics atleast I know there is more out there than that crossram manifold. But which one alows the most cfm.or biggest hp gain with stock tbi, stock heads, but headers and 3" exhaust?

The stock heads and cam are a big restriction.
If we look at the intake only and assume that the engine has heads, cam, exhaust and TB's to match the intake, then ...
Ported stock intake can get you to 300+
X-ram also 300+ might be closer to 400
The last three large port Cross-Ram manifolds all support flow for 450+ hp
A large port Cross-Ram is too big for stock heads and stock cam.
TBI's can be bored for increased air-flow and larger 454 TBI injectors can be used for extra fuel.

ok but i just want to buy the intake manifold that is like a ported stock manifold but is new so i dont have to do any work...
that syi edelbrock looks like it would fit my stock setup..
so will this syi manifold work with mildly ported heads and everything stock without porting anything else???
how much hp increase would this straight bolt on give?

If you go the the Cross-Fire Vault you can talk to people that are using the SY1. I don't have one. A guy on the Cross-Fire Vault makes the top plate needed. The SY1 is not available to buy new any longer so you have to buy a used one. ( ebay ? )

that website doesnt give you a valid password when you want to register.
But the bottom line, what the people on the website would probably answer, is there an aftermarket manifold that replaces the stock cfi manifold without any milling and it gives a fair hp gain.
I also mean one that you can actually buy not some junk from 1965. I looked at that website with that black corvette and taht guy installed the offenhauser crossram. But that's 350 which is a little bigger im guessing that my 305. So will that whale fit on the stock mounting area of the old manifold.
Remember I dont want a manifold that has crazy top end, I just want lower to mid range torqe from the manifold. So which one of those 3- 4 manifolds listed would work together with the stock cfi right out of the box,,no extra milling.

The site works just fine for me.
If you want to just buy something that will bolt on then x-ram could be the solution. As I started the X-ram is worth about 15-20 rwhp on a stock engine.
The guy with the black Corvette is me.

The Offenhauser I use can still be bought brand new, but it is too big for a stock 305 and you probably have to modify stuff here and there to make it fit. ( I had to do that )
Personally I think your best option would be a ported stock manifold and a new cam. When tuned that could probably get you to 240 hp with good low end tourqe.

add it up
thanks a million, you read my mind and saved my wallet.
Obviously use the stock manifold so you dont have to worry about fitting and just port it out a bit. Plus I know a few ppl so the cost for machine work like that shouldnt be much.
Plus I finally got my jegs catalog and I found some crane cams
that are:
Energizer cams+lifter kit
-266H
-range from1200-5000rpm
-266 degrees adv. duration
-.440" gross lift
and would turn out to about $230 if i ordered them from psource
Correct me if Im wrong but Im sure these came will fit on my 305.
***Ok now lets add it up..If i install this cam, which is for sure better than stock, I/E valves, my headers+3" exhaust throughout, do that grind on my throttle body and add ...inch spacer, port out stock manifold generously, and maybe machine heads(im on tight budget) I should get around 240+ hp..right?****
