Couple questions
Ok, Im going out today to buy me a open element air cleaner, and ive seen alot of different posts after i searched about them.
Ive figured this much out..
I want a 14" diameter unit
I want a flat base, not a drop base and i remove the ring, or i want the drop base, that part i dont get.
Also, will those 15 dollar units and stuff at pep boys and places hook up to nessecary sensors?
I found this site and it seems to explain everything really well
http://snflupigus.tripod.com/tech/op...tep1/step1.htm
Also, LT1 cam..im kind of new to mods of the engine itself so im wondering..does it require a new rebuild with diff engine parts or is it just a swap? What else is involved?
Thanks a ton

A standard 14" flat base air cleaner will work. A LT1 cam is just a swap, but many people replace some parts when they are in there.

when replacing your cam, depending on how many miles your car has, it is a good idea to buy a new timing kit. it all has to be taken apart anyways so it is a good idea to go ahead and do it. if not you may end up doing the exact same job again 6 months later.
