Injector problems
Injector problems
On my way home tonight the truck started to run extremely rough. It almost acted like a clogged cat or you pulled a few wires off. I pop the hood and except to see a spark show, but found none.So I pull the air cleaner off and only 1 injector is spraying. So my question is has anyone just had one quit on them .? Or is possible the ecm is dying.I do not know the history of the truck but the odometer say 71,000 (proably 170,000).

check the resistance of each inhector with a multimeter and make sure theyre fairly close to eachother (remember it being like 1.5 ohms or something). If not then one of the injectors is dead. The other thing that could cause that is one of the injector drivers in the ecm crapping out or a loose connection is preventing power from getting to the injector.
A quick easy way to check the injectors would be to swap the wires to the opposite side. If the one that wasn't spraying begins to and the other stops you know it's a electrical problem. If the same injector continues to spray and the other doesn't you know the injector is bad.
