Is this an LT1 cam?
Well guys I have'nt visited this site for a while, but I'm back now. I recently bought an LT1 cam "I think" from someone over the net. The only numbers I see on it are between the first lobe and the ex-fuel pump eccentric. They are BC-15---705-GMPT. Does anyone have a clue?

How long is the dowel pin at the end? The LT1 cams had a really long dowel pin used to drive the opti-spark distributer.

I bought one with the same numbers - as far as I can tell, it is a LT1 cam - from '95 - '97 camaro or vette with aluminum heads. I based this from the following page I found - read the cam section:
http://home.tir.com/~steveher/lt4.html
In the article - you will see mention of one stamped with the 241 (from '93 - '95) instead of 705 - I bought one of these 241's also, and they seemed to match identically (except for the pin length) by my naked eye.
(and yes, my eye was naked only in the privacy of my home!)
