Holley TBI 900 CFM Commander 950 TBI System
I am building a new motor for my car and I have some questions for whoever can answer them. I'm building a 388 stroker with Vortech Heads and an Rpm air Gap manifold. I was gonna put a Demon Carburetor on it but I think I might put one of those Holley Tbi systems on there instead since it can use the stock distributor, and possibly control my transmission too, off my 305. Then I wouldnt have to get a new one and therefore would save a little money. The problem is I myself have never installed or seen one installed before and wonder if theres any wiring complications and so on and if there is what do you have to get to fix it. So again if anyones had any prior experience then I'd appreciate your input. Thanx. Greg
Greg, I think your going to be pushing the limit of the vortecs with your 388. You might consider Edelbrocks 200cc vortec aluminum heads, you'll need the extra flow. As far as the Holley system goes I here that it's a good setup. You won't be able to use it to control your trans but you can use the stock ecm to do so. The Holley ecm only controls fuel and spark. It is user freindly so it shouldn't be to hard to tune. Check out their web site at www.holley.com .
