What is the Black box attached to ECM? It has a small cicuit board inside and a watch battery. It has 4 wires going to it, 2 blacks, an orange, and a pink. Should I replace the battery?

I need to put this thing back together tonight, hence the Urgent.

Also how is the ECM grounded? Through the case or a wire from one of the harnesses? I can see what looks like a thick black/orange wire that looks like it is attached to the upper mounting bracket, I am assuming that is probably the ground wire.

So no one had any idea what this box might be? I have never heard it mentioned before, but it looks like it has a servicable battery inside????
