I am thinking about going with the ZZ4 cam with the Scoggins dickey Vortec heads and the AirGap intake with an adaptor.

Does anyone run the ZZ4 cam with TBI in here? If so, how do you like it?

The reason I ask is that on the Scoggins Dickey website it says that it is not for a computer controlled car.

I do plan on burning my own chip for it BTW.

The tuning isn't that dificult, its just very necessary.

 

I had a LT1 cam for about 1 year but it seemed to mild. The ZZ4 cam has a healthy sounding idle and a more definant power band then the LT1. Although I am not experiencing any bogging a 2500 stall TC would help the launch. This is my dailly driver and its very streetable.(idle in gear with AC on etc.)(thats the beauty of FI)

I am not much of a track guy anyways, so time slips don't mean a lot to me anyhow.

I have an LT1 cam currently and found the same thing.... a little too tame for me.

 

Should be a good setup. I'm thinking next year when I rebuild the bottom end i'll toss in a ZZ4 cam instead of the LT1. Right now I'm having low end problems, I probably need a 2400 stall really soon. But my setup screams from 2800 rpms to 6000, easy. Mine actually breaks the tires loose more often hitting 3500 then ripping it off the line.

You'll also need the Z28 spring upgrade for those vortec's, the LT1 cam maxes the stock L31's out on lift.

 

any sound clips wtih zz4 cam on a 305 tbi??
