91 2.8 5 speed tbi, i'm havving this problem, when im driving the car will be fine and sometimes i'll be stopped at a light and the motor will just start revving high at about 3000 rpm's what could be causing this, today it didnt 5 times on me then it will go back to 1000 your help would be greatly appreciated

 

Sounds vacuum related.

 

See if you can pull a code.

Unscrew the AIC and see how it looks...

Possibly the O2 sensor....

ANyoone else have any ideas?

 

no codes come up i disconnected th i.a.c. and still revving high , then out of nowhere it will just come back down and then up again and its driving me nuts the O2 sensor was replaced about 6 months ago and its seems to be working fine havent had a code since i replaced it, thanks crispy i appreciate your help
