Help .... TBI problem

Dear master in TBI injections, I’m from Chile please sorry my English.

I have a FJ40 with Chevy 350 94 TBI adapted with 1227747 ECU. Work very well but now have a problem. The engine cost much work to start, and must move de distributor advance o retard well the engine start but fare of point ... then work very bad, move again the distributor with the engine running and work ok, but when stop the engine don’t start again and I must move again the distributor. The process don’t stop I very lost.

have you checked the ign. module and connections to the dist? It sounds like maybe your not getting any advance. Also, set the base timing to what is called for stock (probably 0 degrees) and see how it works form there. Also take a timing light and use it to monitor the advance and run the engine at various rpms to see what the timing of the motor does. If the timing doesnt advance, then you probably have a timing issue.

tank you dimented24x7, if the problem is the timing I must change what? ... the ingnition module?

you should try to diagnose it first before you throw parts at it. It could be a whole host of other problems as well. Its probably a good idea to get a chiltons or helms service manual for your truck. The helms is 90 US dollars so the cost is a bit prohibitive but its definatly worth it. Both manuals will, or at least should have basic diagnostics procedures to help you determine what is wrong.
