Lagging

Ok well I recently installed headers and had original wires which burned through and one of my spark plugs were screwed in by hand cuz i couldnt get 2 it with a wrench lol. So when i smash on the gas it lagged for a second then it really started 2 pull. I figured it was the burnt through spark wires not getting enough electricty to the plug or the screwed in spark plug and i was just loseing compression out of the cylinder since it wasnt in tight at all. So i just got some MSD 8.5mm wires and got some accel header spark plugs so I could get to them easier, all the wires are plugged in right fireing order and the spark plugs are in tyte with the right gapping. Yet it still lags for about 1 second ill look at what rpm it starts 2 pull could it just be that the headers just really helped upper rpm horse power? ANybody know what the problem could be? Thanks

You might need to bump up your fuel pressure to account for the additional air that your motor is breathing now. It's probably just leaned out a bit. A friend of mine had the same problem on his 94Z with similar mods.

no not a fuel pump, ahtough in theory that could be the issue, he is talking about using an AFPR to bump up the fuel pressure.

see tech artical:
