A great deal for my TBI family!!
I came across this deal when I was searching through the Crane Cams website. They're having a closeout special on their Digital Multi Spark Ignition Box. In case you're not familiar with it, it's the one that Chevy Hi Performance used in their 305 buildup a couple of months ago. At that time they paid $130 for it, but now it's only $80. Here are the links. . .

Now I think it's only good for up to 9.5:1 compression, but you can call to see if it will still work for higher compression motors. He also said that it would be better to run a .045 gapped spark plug with this. Of course if you're running NO2, you'll need to use a colder plug. Like yall didn't know.

Well, it should be just like your standard MSD box, 6A I think. As far as HP gain I can't be certain as of right now, but I will run this thing on the dyno and see. Even if it doesn't, my previous experience with these type of boxes, is that I get much better startup capabilities and improved throttle response. These things should be a requirement for carbs that live in the cold.
Oh, and thanks for replying. I was startin' to think that noone cared. . .

ONLY 7 MORE DAYS UNTIL I GET TO GO HOME!!! I'm not counting though.

I installed a MSD system on my old 3.4 project.
(Yeah you heard me, 200rwhp from a N/A 3.4L)
We gained significant throttle response and a smoother idle.
I can't say how much power we gained, but I know
installed right VS installed wrong was a 20hp difference LOL!

Unless I searched it wrong, the part number for the SB V-8 is 6000-6300, which sells for $175. Although, apparently, you do get the coil for free, so its still less than the MSD.

Yeah, I think your research is right, but when I talked to the guy, he said it was because they're not making them anymore. All of their new stuff is "direct plug in."
