smoking

ok when i start my car after it sits for awile it will smoke with started its b/c the valve guides are wore out and im changing the motor mid summer and i was wondering if theres anything i can do to fix it with out rebuilding them. thanks

hey, that puff of blue smoke on start up is teh SBC's trademark signature. I wouldnt sweat it that much, jsut as long as it doesnt continously burn oil its not a problem.

only change the seals its not hard at all, just got to get spring tool(they sell them at sears). it will be very easy with the motor out when your changing it.
