fuel pump not coming on...
Hey guys, I tried searching for this and got some ideas, but didn't figure it out. My brother's 89 Formula (305 TBI) is not starting. I can not hear the fuel pump prime when I turn it to "run". I read on here that I could jump the FP Relay by running a wire from the red to the orange. I tried that with the relay plugged in and with it unplugged (I wasn't sure which way) but still no noise. There is the fuel pump/ecm fuse next to the battery, I checked it and it was not blown. I guess the next thing to do is make sure the oil pressure switch is not malfunctioning, but how do I do that??? If that doesn't work, is there any way to bypass all the fuses and relays and switches and just run power straight to the pump to see if the pump is gone??? Any info is much appreciated.
Thanks.
Jonathan

No one has any ideas???? I went out and took the air cleaner assy off and sure enough not even a drop of fuel is coming out of the injectors. I poored some gas in the TB and it cranked up (just enough time to get it to the shade; 90 degree weather is not fun). So what is next???? Please help guys, I need to have this thing fixed by Tuesday...

Dont forget to check the fuse under the dash, if there is one.
Mine is a 91 and it has a fuse by itself for the pump under the dash. if not then you might have a bad fuel pump

There is not a fuse for the pump under the dash in the 89's. It is next to the battery and it not blown. I took the harness loose at the tank and the tan wire which should be hot according to the Haynes wiring diagram did not light up the test light. So that leaves me with the oil pressure switch or a short in the wiring that goes back to the pump. So how do I check the oil pressure switch???? And how do I get to it???
