Is there a better cam than the LT1 cam for our LO3's? One that would produces more horsepower, but still be environmentally friendly and MPG friendly. I was just curious. I know some guys say that the ZZ4 cam is a good choice, but the LT1 cam runs fairly well without chip tuning. Like I said though, just curious as to what else is out there.

The stock swirl port heads don't flow much over .450 lift anyways so if you want to consider a different cam I would concentrate more on the duration than lift.

Some people are using the ZZ4 cam, it requires a lot of custom tuning (prom burning) and costs much more than the LT1, those are the only downfalls.

Anything aftermarket. For me, specifically Comp Cams.

Crane 2050 for LT1s. Its .498 .498 215/217.

The LT1 cam wont even really run well without chip tuning.

Has anyone ever tried putting the LT1 cam into a 350 truck with the stock chip?? It seems like there is plenty of timing in it. Just curious as I already installed headers and 083 heads. Thanks guys

You can go with an LT4 cam which a slightly bigger than the LT1 but not as crazy as the ZZ4. I just so happen to have a brand new LT4 cam for sale. PM me for details.
