quarter times

what kind of a quarter mile time can i expect? Here is the info on my car. I have a 1983 firebird T/A with the 305 crossfire fuel injection, automatic trans (4spd with overdrive) and B&M shift kit, 160 degree stat, headers with no smog and no cat just original "Y" pipe back to flowmaster 80 series muffler, and 3.73 gear but no posi. Any guesses on quarter times will be most appreciated i get the car back tommorrow thanks for your time.

thanks mad-mic i forgot to mention k&n air filters but that wont make to much of a difference. Hey if any one could tell me who would win between me the 83 firebird mentioned in my original post above vs. a 96 eclipse with a turbo all stock. I raced the kid before in his eagle talon i had no mods then my car was stock and i ate his talon up pretty bad just wondering what would happen now cuz he wants a rematch with his eclipse.

cap/rotor/wires/plugs are NOT performance enhancing items. they are simply tune up peices and will only affect performance if your car was way out of shape to begin with. with that said i believe with your mods (if the car is in good tune and running at 100%) i think you could pull a mid 15 if launched correctly. unfortunately, a turbo Eclipse will most likely beat you

you never said whether it was a FWD or AWD Eclipse. if its a FWD one, keep the race as short as posible (like 0-60) and if you get 0 wheelspin on your launch you have a chance. anything past 60mph, and his high reving turbo motor will most likely pass you. good luck

thanks for the response tpivette its 96 4cyl turbo eclipse and im pretty sure its AWD. but if worst comes to worst i can always bring out the 88 gta with the 350 tpi, shift kit, flowmaster cat back exhaust. but he wants to race me in the 83 cuz i beat him in the 83 the first time in his talon so we will see what happens pretty soon here.

Not 100% true. Upgrading from stock to high-performance cap/rotor/wires/plugs & ignition you can expect a tenth...
