Gentlemen, I need some advice. What could be causing my problem. I have a 88 305 tbi. No mods on this engine. The engine runs like **** and stalls if i dont keep my foot on the gas for the first few minutes after a cold start. Once it is warm there is no problems. I replaced the egr valve on a guess. It didnt help at all. The engine has always been maintained. It has approx. 120,000 on it. Parts have been replaced over the years but only with oem or equivilant replacement parts. What other things should i be looking at. All help is greatly appreciated.

 

check your idle air control valve. Sounds like it may be stuck or bad. I had one jam solid on me and the ecm never even flagged it.
