Are you talking about the edelbrock performer tbi? If so, it is a direct bolt in. Installation is the exact opposite of removal. You'll need new intake gaskets, rtv, tbi to intake gasket, thermostat gasket, and I think that's it. When intalling, make sure to clean all the old gaskets and rtv completely, and pay close attention to putting the rtv on the front and rear of the block-that's where most leaks happen.

You may need an EGR gasket to. It is reusable but can peal apart very easily. RTV is a sealnat that is used to seal off water passages, thermostat housing, and the front and rear parts of the intake that touch the block. Instalation is pretty easy. You have to drain all the coolant. Disconnect thermostat (good time to replae this with a cooler unit), dissconnect all lines to the TBI and then the TBI itself. I like to make all the hoses and vacuum line so I know how everything went together. Remove the intake bolts and pray it off. Watch out because there will be coolant in the intake still and you do not want to pour it itnto your lifter valley. After that you have to clean and clean and clean the mating surface to ensure that all of the old gasket stuff is off. Gaskter failure will occuer if any of the old gasket is stuck on there. Instalation is reverese of tear down. You may need to bend your thorttle bracket a little to get it to all line up right. You will feel a little difference in performance but no wher near the power you would feel lwith a new cam. The stock intake is adequete for the stock cam. This intake will help you down the road though with future mods. Check out my site for pics.
