Vortec 350 TBI update needed
I've had a vortec headed 350 tbi for quite a few years now and it is time for a rebuild. I had Ed Wright do the chip for it and he did a good job but I never did get the car tuned exactly right. I probably should have kept going back to Ed but I didn't. The motor is at the machine shop right now getting ready for the build. This time around, I'd like to go for a pretty big cam for a little more power and re-do the chip.
I DO NOT want to burn my own chips even though a lot of people are going to suggest that. I want to get someone like Ed to do it for me. Should I go back to him or are there others out there that can do it?
I also switched from a 700R4 to a T56 six speed so that will need to be fixed in the chip too. That was probably another reason I never got the old chip exactly right.
Please let me know what you guys think as for I am considering a carb swap at the moment.

What are the specs on the cam that you want to put it, you might still be in the clear with TBI and an Ed Wright chip.

Actually, I'm still open for suggestions on the cam. The cam I've had for the past couple years is Crane #114122 which is 264/274 Adv. Duration and .423/.446 Gross lift. I'd really like to get closer to a .500 lift and get a more aggressive sound at idle. I have the manual transmission so I won't have to worry about what stall to use. Also I'll be using the new Comp valve springs that allow high lift cams with the Vortec heads so that won't be a problem anymore.
