Newbie has questions
I'm working on a '95 Chevy truck that originally had a 350 engine in it but the owner had a built 468 ci big block put in but they are using the stock throttle body & computer,I'm getting a piggyback unit from pcmsforless but my question is about swapping on a big block(supposedly)throttle body but the IAC & TPS sensors have different conectors & won't interchange on the throttle body's.I have rewired each according to the wire colors & also tried each by matching the A,B,C,D wires to each other even though the wire colors don't match & the truck runs rough & worse than it did w/h the 350 tbi on it.Any suggestions on which wiring is correct? that way I will know if the IAC,TPS or both are bad on this big block unit. Thanks for any info.Scott
The 454 TBI will work with that computer, but you will have to have a new chip burnt. You have to chewck the intake bores on your current setup, and make sure they are 2" to match the 454 TBI.
Do a search for 454 tbi, and you will find a post where someone had some difficulty, and ended up figuring out how to wire the 454 TBI correctly.
actually..if you have a big block in there now, and you run the 454 injectors too, you might not have to burn a custom prom. If you have a 350, you have to reprogram the ECM for the bigger injectors, because it will be way rich.
