best way to launch LO3
Hey people i was jus curious about the best way to launch ur LO3...Ive heard people tell me leave it on OD or drop it into D..but i realize when i leave it in OD or D and punch the pedal i get a one wheel squeel
So jus out of curiosity i was thinking about adding a battery jumper over my right tire to help stop the wheel spin a little? is this the right thing to do? I was also told by people drop it into the granny gears...and shift it at 5k then drop it into 2nd...but theres still some wheel spin...should i hold the brake bring it upto 1000-1200rpm then punch it? guyz gimme some advice

The way I launch it at the track is shift all the way down in first, and hold around 900-1k rpm and for a split second do about 75% throttle and right after floor it and hold it to 5k, shift to second and I didn't get to much above 5k so I was in 2nd gear most of the way down the track..In otherwords, 2.73's let me keep it in 2nd gear lol.
By doing it that way, I knocked off 1 full second off my 1/4 time from just leaving it in "D" and punching it.

I did pretty decent wen I had the peg leg.
The way I launched was I started with the shifter in 1st gear and then eased into the throttle at launch to keep wheel spin to a minimum. You will almost always have better times doing this than spinning the tire. Bring it to the point just before the tires spin. It takes a bit of practice to get the hang of it.
I still have my best 60 ft from my pegleg days. 2.204 60 ft.
When shifting, I always "preloaded" by shifting high. That way I would be dropped high into the power rpm band. My shifts were around 5200-5300. This was when I had a hp peak around 4000 rpm. Gotta rethink my shifts though as my peak is now at 4800 rpm.
