What next.......
Hello, this is my first post so sorry if it seems trivial.
I own a 1991 Pontiac Firebird 5.0 TBI and have been running it over in Scotland U.K. for a few months.
Parts over here are well expensive eg (£398 for eibach springs = 600 dollars+ carriage + Vat at 17.5%) and petrol is 80p a litre.
I have recently purchased or have on order
15 X 4inch Foam RamAir Filter
stage 2 tbichips.com chip with 170 Thermostat
Hedman headers and Y pipe
chasing down an LT4 Cam through this forum.
Dremel multi to port the stock Throttle body.
I do not think i can afford aftermarket heads but I do want to purchase an Intake manifold suitable for the above parts combination.
I will be using the stock bonnet (hood) so whatever I decide to buy must fit under that.
In the UK most suppliers seem to stock Edelbrock parts but I have been using ebay to source parts so anything is possible.
Broadly speaking should i be looking at single or dual plane and will a cheapy $40 weiand intake from ebay give as much as as a $200 Edelbrock air gap RPM.

i would look for a single plane. don't know that you need the air gap, and there is no way the air gap and a 4" filter element will fit under the stock bonnet
can't help you with the lt4 cam, BUT i am selling a ultradyne racing cam (272/282 206/216 .447 .447 112). i have no idea what shipping a cam over the lake would cost though :shrugs:
also, really that combo is not going to work great with the stock heads, that much cam, and a single plane on a 305, needs some head that are better than those boat anchor peices of crap that are on there. i don't know if you could find some used heads over there or not, but if you could get some lg4/l69 heads, or lb9 heads. you would be sound as a pound. it is also likely going to be much easier to find an intake manifold for cheap, that fits the pre87 heads like the lg4/l69 (casting #416) heads.
