People are a-holes, eh? If the urethane isn't -that- badly ripped, you can repair it. Bondo makes a special "flexible bumper repair kit", which consists of a two-part, sandable epoxy. And you can sand the cracked paint down with a random oribital sander.
Of course for all that trouble you might want to get a new bumper that's already primed...

I knew I wasn't the only one. Haven't had any run ins like that here, but they sure don't think twice about towing it (while parked legally!)

I am sorry to hear what happened. I know the feeling. Just today I had an incident(totally my fault) where I backed up into a poll cuz this nice looking ladies(real short shorts)were flirting with me and I had to smile back then bam! Good thing I was not moving to fast but still some of the paint fell off and left a bad grey(primer)spot on my Z.
I had just washed my car.

A similar situation happened to me once...back in NJ, when i was going to Delicious Orchards Farm in Colts Neck(good country food store), some dumb b**ch in a NEW P O R C H E came and parked next to me, and swung her 112,000-dollar door against my 400-dollar door and put a dent in it. By the way, this happend all as i was SITTING IN MY CAR, WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN!! Sure, i need a paint job, but please...I dont need more body work to do! What a dumb *****. She must have been no older than 30 or so, and just showed a blatant disreguard for other people's property....including her own. I hate morons like this....unintelligent bastards like that should take public transportation...or stay the [explicative] home. God only knows i park in Shanghai when i take my C5 to the mall or wherever...can't trust anyone parking next to you if you have a nice car that you enjoy, but are also trying to preserve...

What suck is when you go to the store and park way out away from everyone, and when you get back there's like a half-dozen carts on your car
. I also had someone hit my car...man, did I blow a head gasket...I never thought I could yell so loud, even when I was in NROTC...
. I also had someone hit my car...man, did I blow a head gasket...I never thought I could yell so loud, even when I was in NROTC... I think every store should have a car lovers parking area that's raised above the rest of the lot (no carts to hit ya and no maniac drivers) with extra wide spaces (say goodbye to door dings) and camera survellence (in case some A§§ keys your baby)
only in a perfect world though

Put a fence around your car with a doberman, a pitbull and a germa shepard walking around your car.I think they'll take a double take on parking next to you

89 RS 305 TBI K&N, Flowmaster, Suspension mods to come soon
I was parked at my buddies school overnight a couple of weeks ago. I went out to my car to leave and this ******* in a jeep cherokee parked no more than 2 INCHES away from my drivers side door! I had to get in through the passenger door! wtf!?!?! There is no way that he could have thought that it was a full size space. I hate stupid people who don't know how to drive and/or park.

Dude, u can get it painted, just make sure they mix flex additive right and do everything else right too, or it will keep having to be repainted.

The fact is...there are too many people out there with pure and utter disreguard for other poeple's property. Unfortunetly, there is also a great deal of people out there that are jealous of what other people have(like nice cars that we own) and feel the need to partially destroy, maim or infringe on that particular thing...just out of pure envy. If I had taken my C5 to school with me, that thing wouldnt last 2 hrs in the parking lot. People driving high, drunk from parties, jealousy...hell no....cant trust anyone anymore. No respect.

well sorry its been so long since i replied casue i have been away from the net while i was moving, but now i took my car to work with me and parked in the back spot and someone pushed in the corner of the REAR bumper,,,,,,,,,, man im so ******* pissed off right now...... now i have to redo the front and rear,,,,,,, im just going to wait to get my whole car done nowgrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
there is no way to prevent careless *******s!! i never take my car anywhere anymore where if plan to leave it for any length of time; and if i have to i just leave my rottweiler with it! never have any problems!
when I get my car repainted, Im going to do what some of my friends do, when you park in narrow spaces, park on the line so that you take up two, that way youve got about 3 feet to the next car. then you will have an obvious reason for beating the **** outta somebody if you get a dent

ya but there is always ignorant fu(ks that will
1) try and squeeze in just to **** u off
or
2) make sure something happends to ur car for taking up 2 spaces and not leaving one for them. personally, i dont have my car yet (get it in very very early may or late april.. YAY!) ,but when i drive C5s and T/as from my dads lot i just park in a normal parking space, closest to the place im going as i can get, but make sure im near smaller cars and im in the middle of my space. that way u have no people that will hate u for taking up 2 spaces and not leaving them one, if the small cars stay u got nothing to worry about, but if they decide to leave they have door clearance (most people squeeze in as much as they can ne way) and if some *** decideds to ram ur car or key it or whatnot someones always gonna be there and they can report it, or get there tags or w/e for u
perfect solution
i have had one bad experience tho, when i was like early 14 and my mom was really sick (real dizzy and stuff) and my dad couldnt come back from work, cause this was back when he worked far away not 10 mins like he does now, me and my friends had to go to the store and get a refil for my moms medicine. i have been driving since i was 9 so that wasnt a problem, and my friends and people i meet always said i looked 16 so i was good 2 go, my dad had left my mom a 99 yellow mustang convertble 5 spd (dear lord, please clense my sole and forgive me sins, thanks u amen) and me and my friend took it to the store. well we deicded to fill up on the drugs at Safeway. He went in, and i stayed in the car. well i parked decently close, but not real close so i wouldnt get caught, and i had a old tercel to my right and the rest of the parking lot to my left. they were selling crispy kreme donuts at the door so i decided to get a box of 12 for breakfast for the next week. i came back with one of those moca frappacino's from starbucks (this was when they only had the bottle ones) and the donuts and went back to the car. not two minutes later a HUGGGEEEE truck, looked like a raised/longer tahoe or something. prolly a supped up suburban. it had that pushbar and **** parked RIGHT next to me. the a$$hole spit on my door and hit his door against mine
since i was only 14 what was i gonna do? sue? he left a nice black line tho.
moral of my story: park near store (VERY CLOSE) next to small cars! and there will ALWAYS be ignorant fools that are looking for some fun at others missfortune so get used to it

man i didnt think id get this many responses...... all im saying is that its like no one has any respect anymore, i mean even though i despise mustangs, and i do, i still wouldnt park next to a nice one and fukc it up just because, i mean i respect that the guy put as much if not more into his car as i have to mine so i know how pissed hed be. i mean its not his fault he has amental defect and likes ford
but i mean it all boils down to respect

I know how you feel man. I parked my car in the school lot one day, and I happened to have detention that day (high school sux *** ) so I had to stay late. When I got out to my car everyone else was gone, and i noticed a big dent in my front pass. fender over the wheel. Some f*cking moron beaner managed to back into the fender and crunch the fender lip, hard enough to make the paint flake off. the worst part is I dont know who did it. Man if I find out who it was I swear they will find their car up in blocks stripped to the frame. now I need a new fender. When you spend 3 months wet sanding your car, you kinda wanna keep it lokking nice.
BTW, i try and keep people from parking by me by parking really crooked or taking a couple spaces. Seems to work great at the mall.

When i first got my licence i hit a parked car it was a Ford Thunderbird and i did do some damage but not allot the car was allreay messed up. So i put a note on it to be nice but then i realised i left a note and if i had my friend take the note off i coudnt get introuble lol. But any ways when i was elaving school i saw the person get into her car and not even notice it. So i felt ok if it was actual a nice car ya i more then likeley would of left a note. I need to get my front bumper fixed i was working on somethign with the car in gear and was infront of it and it decided it wanted to hop the blocks and run me over and then hit the wall in my grage. the damage wasent that bad tho.
Two quick ones.
The first one happened in Feb. My IROC was at an indoor carshow. I drove my 86 442 to the show and parked in the ramp (downtown area). I got the first spot right outside the elevator door. The car was clean and waxed as it was the first time I drove it this year. I came back after the show and some idiot spit all over the car. Jerks!
Second. I drove my IROC for the first time this year on Good Friday. I went to a body shop to ask about paintless dent removal as my passenger door has 2 very small imperfections. I later drove the car to a Chevy dealer to look at the 2001's and parked in the only spot available. To sum it all up, I washed the car last night for the first time since last June and there's a big dent in the passenger door. It wasn't there at the body shop, but is now. Even a dealership isn't safe. Jerks!

I know the feeling. My current Z is actually my second one. My first one was also purchased as a project car. I had completed ALL of the body work minus the paint job that was scheduled for the following week. I had replaced both front fenders with new and purchased a nice fiberglass cowl hood. All was good until one friday night when a drunk decided to run a red light!!! He hit me in the driver's side front, spun me around and bounced me off of the light pole on the oppisite corner of the intersection. Totally destroyed all of my new parts and bent the car beyond repair
6 months of repair work for nothing!! The worst part is that the cop didn't even do a sobriety test on the A-Hole!! If it wasn't for bad luck...
