305/350 truck TBI intake?

Hello my name is Chris; I am new to this website as well as a forum. Howver i figured I would try it when i saw a TBI "cold air style" intake on ebay. It says that the product is for the suburban, tahoe, and blazer with 305/350 TBI. I myself own a 1989 Firebird 305 TBI. (197,000+ and still goin strong without ANY rebuild, goes to show what buying from an army colonel gets ya). Back to the subject...will this intake work for my TBI with posible slight modifications? I originally wanted to go to TPI but i dont want the hassle of all the electronics. If this does not work i want to go with K+N xtream airfilter/open element. How does one attatch the PCV filter and extra sensors with an open air element? Much thanx.

Hey welcome to the boards!! There is a great tech srticle on how to install and open air element on our cars. The only sensor that you have to retain in the air cleaner assembly is the IAT. The pvc attaches to the bottom of the TBI unit and will not be touched. You could actaully relocated the IAT but that is another subject. You are better off with an open air element because the truck won't fit right. It is to much $$ for all the hassel to get it to work. You can have an open air element for 25 bucks or less and be really happy with the results. By the way Chris is the best name ever.
