Dewey...question for ya

Hey what is going on...I was reading in one of the other postings that you have the follwoing set-up.....

"using a weiand single plane (7525), with ported 416 casing heads, and a 670 TBI unit.....3:42 gears".

I am sort of if in the middle of putting together the same sort of combo and am interested in hearing what you run in the 1/4 and HP/TQ estimate if you have had it on the dyno.....

..thanks in advance & Cheers!!

that setup is not on yet. but it is in the garage, i still need some minor piecies (pushrods, gaskets, crap like that). basicly i bought another car, and that killed my money for a bit, but i really needed a daily driver, with all the mods that are going on with the camaro. i estimate that the combo will be 300hp. i am crossing my fingers on that, times SHOULD be in the 13's. i am not sure exactly when i will get this stuff on, but be assured everyone will know how it does on the dyno and at the track.

Ah...sort of sound like me...my car is sitting in the garage just waiting for me to get my but into gear and start/finish things off....maybe I will start on a few things tonight.

The way my set up is "planned to go" is I have 7525....a set of 416's which are being shipped out to my buddies engine guy to have them worked over...and I have a new diff built almost ready to go into my car (I think they are actually 3:55's in there...but not 100% sure I will have to count the teeth again). I put an L98 cam in there at the begining of the summer but got frustrated with the new manifold & the EGR so I just tossed the old one back on just so I could drive it last summer....but for the most part I have almost the same set up as you sitting there in my garage....(geez a lot of good it is doing just sitting there eh...lol)....Ya when you do get things together let me knwo....I will be sure to do the same.

Hmmmm...I think I am actually going to go out and get waht I need to make myself my Aldl Cable....atleast taht will be a start... :-)

the aldl will be needed. it will need chip tuning.

since this thread is really a personal thread. i am going to get into a little bit of chip tuning here.

basicly, i put my headers that had been in the garage for months on last weekend (i had to do SOMETHING )

this weekend i tuned the car. i knew that the headers would help, and would lean the engine out a bit, but i was not expecting to have to change my fueling as much as i did.

the initial run showed blms of 140+ above at and above 4k, it worked its way from 126 at 1k, up to that. a blm of 140 means that that i need 9.3% more fuel. i had blms in the 146 range at higher RPMs that is almost 12% more fuel. to maintaine a 14.7:1 AFR. that is pretty substancal change, for only headers. imagine how far off a car is, when you do cam/heads/intake and the jazz.

just some food for thought for everyone to concder when i talk about how important doing custom chips is.

In another day of two I will tell you how far off the stock bin is from my current set-up. The car should be running with the new cam very soon and data logging will commence!!!
