TBI to TPI question

I have a 1992 RS 305 TBI with 5 speed . I just purchased a TPI intake system from a 1991 Transam 350 with auto. My question is will the chip in the ECM work with my 305? Will I have to recalibrate the chip in any way? Thanks in advance.

heh. theres alot more to it then that.

you're going to have to modify your harness or swap out to a TPI one.

and you need to get a diffrent ECM and "chip" alltogether.. a stock 305one would work fine though, so its not too hard.

if you didnt already know, you also will have to swap your fuel pump to a higher pressure TPI one.

I already have a TPI pump installed and the wiring harness and 7730 ECM comes with the TPI kit. I just don't know if the Eprom will have to be recalibrated to work with the 305 since the unit is out of a 350. Does it matter if I use 24lb injectors or 19 lbs? Does it matter if the unit is out of an auto and I have a 5 speed?

Yes you need a 305 prom for a 5 speed and correctly calibrated for your Injector size. Did you read Anesthes' post a few down? Where all the fighting was? Read through the bull**** and you'll find some good info.

I just got back from the yard about 2 hours ago with my airbox, 730 ecm, 730 ecm connectors and 8 injector plugs.

here is the link:
