Timing issue (kinda stupid)

I followed all the correct steps and advanced my timing by 4* with the tan wire disconnected. When I reconnected the tan wire and started the engine the timing was a little higher than 12* at idle. Is this normal?

Brian

i think thats right. when you plug the esc back up, it advances your timing a certain amount. im not sure how much, but what you said seems about right. i just read something on a different thread the other day about what youre asking. im pretty sure youre ok. read through some posts from a couple of days ago, im sure youll find it if you want further reasurance.

Yea you are fine. When you plug that wire in the computer regains control of the timing but with your 4* advance. That is why you unplug it so that you can see where you are starting at and keep the computer from interfering.

Thanks for clearing that up for me guys. Its better to be safe than sorry and I can not get over how smooth the idle is now.
