350 TBI injector question

I've serached for an answer and can't find any. I just bought 350 TBI injectors to put in my 305 TBI. After I installed them and started the car, the 350 injectors wouldn't fire. Anybody know why that is? Thanks.

they should fire unless they were put in incorrectly unless they are bad injectors.

how long were they sitting around not being used before you installed them? mine wouldnt fire either, so i soaked them in carb cleaner for awhile, then tapped them a couple of times and they fired right up. after reading around for awhile, i discovered that its not that uncommon of a problem.

Must be clogged up or something. Did you buy them new? They should spray more fuel than a 305ci ever needs. Do you have a injector testing light to see if your getting power to them? Why do you want 350ci injectors? Have you did some major head, intake and exhaust work?

I wanted the injectors because I'm running World Products 305 torquer heads, Crane compucam 2031, Turbo City modified TBI with adjustable regulator and Edelbrock TBI intake. I read in an article that 350 tbi injectors would "pass more gas". The injectors I bought brand new Autozone and they have been sitting for a while.

I think the autozone injectors are known for being crappy injectors.

the bottom of the injectors have a little nipple and the TBI has a little notch so there's only one way you can put them in. they might be bad.

I've got a Auto Zone injector on the drivers side of my TBI and it sucks! The tip is more up inside the injector than the factory one, the fuel spray cone is too wide and at idle it causes drops of fuel to form and causes a dripping.

Again do you have a injector nod(an injector test light)? If not most parts stores sell them for about $5 or less. You plug it up where you'd plug the injector and then crank the car over it should flash, if not your not getting power to the injector.

I'd think think that new injectors would work. At least one, huh? I'm betting your problem is'nt the injectors. Have you tried the old injectors?

the old injectors are leaking bad. When I turn on the ignition key and fuel pump primes, you can see fuel trickling out of both injectors. I'll get a noid light tomorrow. Does it matter what year Chevy truck these injectors came from?

I've had that problem before too. That sounds like a bad injector O-ring. I think all TBI units are the same '87-'95 anyway other than injector #'s and the 454ci units which have a 2" bore.

Maybe if I just replace the O-rings, it should get me by until my TPI unit arrives in the mail.
