Tbi Questions???

Just wanted to know if i could take a 350 short block from an early 70's truck, put 350tbi heads on it and use a stock intake and throttle body from a 305tbi. would the cam in it work or do i need to get one to work with the computer? would the intake and throttle body work or are they to small? Is there anything else i would need to take into consideration? THANKS

Yes you could do that, but you would need a prom from a 350 tbi car ( $30 from tbichips.com) I would reccomend the cop car caprice prom, also 350 injectors, A 350 tbi knock sensor, and a 350 tbi ESC module. Also if you did take a stock 70's 350 and put 350 tbi heads on it you would probably have about 10 more hp and like 30 more tq than a stock 305 so I wouldnt advise it. Those engines have crappy cams and crappy Compression ratios so If you do the swap I would recommend a new cam and new heads with 64 cc cumbustion chambers for more compression. Good Luck.

It depends on the specs of the cam. Get me the specs on it and I can tell you. If its bored .30 over that will definetly help your performence and if you have a decent cam it will probably be a pretty good performer.

It depends on what heads you use. That motor is a non roller block and you cannot just use the cam and valvetrain/heads from a late model roller set-up. That cam also has to be within specs of FI friendlyness.
