Pics of new 350 custom crate are here!
Got my new crate engine last week, put it in on Sunday. It wasnt to bad, had to fight it a little to get it lined up with the tranny, but Once I did it fell right in. Didnt get it runnin yet, still piecing it together. Here is the specs on the engine.
New 4 bolt main block, late model.
Forged 350 crank
Clevite 77 main bearings
Melling high volume oil pump
Federal mogul hypertectic valve relief pistons 10.1 compression
Comp cams 08-502-8 Extreme Energy hydraulic roller camshaft
218/224 duration, .495/.503 lift. 112 lsa
Edelbrock performer rpm 60899 alum. heads 64cc chambers, 170cc intake runners
Edelbrock performer rpm intake 7101
Chrome oil pan, valve covers, timing cover, dipstick, fuelpump block off plate, timing pointer.
Msd Pro billet dist.
Holley 670 TBI provided by Howell EFI with 80 pph injectors
Custom Chip and adapter plate also by Howell EFI
Recieved headers yesterday from ACS. Hedman 68470 w/y-pipe, coated of course. Gonna run this y with my 2.5 inch dynomax super turbo catback until I can save more money for the 3.5 inch Mufflex w/ spintech. Then I will change the cat and modify the Y-pipe. Maybe it will leave me a few more horses to look forward to after I break it in.
only thing i need to get is the water pump, edelbrock 8881, will be in the next few weeks, I am about broke need less to say, but I refuse to put my cast iron flowkooler water pump on it. cant wait to start it. Also I need to buy my plumbing, stainless hose and earls fittings another 150.00, but that should do it. will show more pics as things go along.

Sounds like that should be a good performer. You will deffinetely make more power with the larger exhaust. So you will have something to look forward to then. That is a nice cam you have selected and she be very tunable. I am not familer with Howell tunes but you may still want to datalog when the car is up and running to make sure you are getting the most out of that thing.

Yeah I'm hoping it will be a performer. Howell said they will tweak the chip a few times for free after I collect some data. I will get into chip burning sooner or later. Should have it runnin within the month.
