TBI guru's gather: rough draft on new TBI sticky to help newbie modders

I have posted this in the FAQ board to have others look at it from the other boards. if you have any add in's or comments or have a mistake that I have made please let me know right away. I want your guys opinions so that we can put together a basic understaning of what these cars are all about for the first time TBI modder. Ove the next week or so I will rearrange the stuff I have and will make numerous corrections and refinements. Let the commetn begin. As you can see 90RS305 unlocked all of the "all go here" posts so that we can unclutter this board. This new sticky will try to cover everything on these cars that is TBI specific. So no suspension, rear end, or exhaust stuff applies.

its looking good, shifty, having a simple place like that at the top of the board will save us having the same questions over, and over.

you might also add gear/posi in there somewhere, it comes up all of the time here.

Nice so far, I'd like to ad a couple things that I didn't know when I first got the car

The exhaust manifolds are very restrictive, but on these particular cars the Y-pipe is even more so. It's actually a T-pipe, and uses small diameter tubing, rendering larger diameter cat-backs useless.

I didn't see a note about AFPR's on there. It seems most "mail-order" chip burners reccomend a 160* theromstat and 13psi fuel, and we have seen stock regulators vary from 9-12 psi. You also might want to mention the VAFPR and people's sucess with tuning them.

Very good points and I can see I forgot some stuff. I am going to shortly mention gears and exhaust and encourage them to do their research on that in other boards. They are very important and need attention but are sorta not TBI. I will cover the thermac mostly for the exhaust part. Keep em' comming guys.. I am sure I missed a bunch of stuff. I have already found like 38683 grammar errors.

i was looking at content, not grammar

you might also mention, or link to the TBI manifolds vs Single Plane threads, so they can make an informed descision on the intakes.

also, answering general questions, like compresion ratio, cam specs, ect or a link to the data on it.

i would also suggest linking the prom burning intro, in the chip question.

All great suggestions and I plan on it. I am sorta trying to the best way to do the prom burning. I am going to have links to get the stuff but it is just so important I want to do it right with as much detail but keeping the boring factor down.

I would suggest to give links to a search on all the Topic of the Week posts that Tas started a long time ago, they have a lot of good information in them, especially the Intakes one here's the search: TOTW

Sounds like a good idea. I plan on trying to add a link to every qustion/answer topic that I cover to help people get in the right direction and encourage them to search.
