Noisy injectors?

how noisy should my injectors be? they are quite loud at idle and can be heard eaisly without opening the hood. i do have a Open element withe a K&N filter. is it normal to hear them "hiss" our should i not be able to hear them at idle? runs fine just dont know if thats normal.

It is normal. The tock air cleaner assemply does a good job of dampening out any sounds from the incomming air and injectors tick/hiss. I think it sounds really cool and is a sound you don't hear on your regular every day small block.

That's what that noise is! I installed an open element and since then I started hearing that noise but I didn't think about it. I kinda didn't like it at first but now I think its pretty cool.

Some of the hiss you are hearing is probably the idle air control valve (IAC). As the engine warms up the valve closes a lot but not completely. The injectors make more of a ticking sound, I've never herd mine hiss before.
