TBI 305 to 350 questions
I want to get the best power out of my newly acquired TBI motor, it's from a 89 camaro and has the 700R4.
under all the 305 stuff is a 90 L-98, it seemed to run okay in the camaro, never seemed to starve for fuel or idle weird, should I leave it as is, or should I get a 350 chip and injectors.
I plan on swapping out the 305 heads for 305 h.o heads will pushrod legth be a problem or is it bolt on and go, I realize about the manifold bolts angle, as well as the accesory bolt missing. or should I get a set of f-body 350 heads.
it seems to be geared pretty high but has no problem breaking its tires loose at will, should I leave the gears alone since it does accelerate very nicely.
I want to get at least the power it made when it was a L-98, I have a edelbrock performer 4 barrel manifold, with a adapter will egr clearance be a problem and will hood clearnce be a problem as well.
thanks

I would use a set of L98 heads. That way your compression will not be out of this world. You deffineately need to get into chip burning and use larger injectors. You may want to put another cam in there if you are pulling the heads.

Yeah I'd agree with Shifty: go with some L98 heads not 305 heads. Use that manifold you have and absolutely get some headers, those manifolds are choking the life out of that engine.
