Head swap on L03..ET Change??

Head swap on L03..ET Change??

Just for fun...as I am in the middle of porting a set of 416's for use on my L03....what do you guys think I am going to gain once these things are tossed on the car.

Currently this is what is on the car....stock engine, l98 cam, pullies/wires...etc...yadda yadda yadda. Headers and exhaust, stock open diff and is an Auto. Car runs 15.6...I think she has more...but I dont drive it enough to say for sure.

So after the ported/polished 416's, an intake and some LCA's... what do you guys think that will knock off my et???

Any ideas....this is just for fun...what do you guys think I will see at the track once I get these things on there.

You will most likely run slower unless you get into chip burning. With a properly burnt chip you could see low 14's.

ya thats cool....I thought I might run a little slower...it just gives me more incentive to get into chip burning I guess....well atleast I have that started I have the cable made and I know it works :-)

Go ahead with the head swap but be prepared for the ar to run like poo. You will be so happy when your chip burning skills rip seconds off your et's.

The set up you have is almost exactly what I have. Including the 416's and the L98 cam. After the install I ran a 17.6 and then a 17.1 after some chip tuning. It was then that I discoverd the rocker arms were loose. I used the old bolts on them. Make sure you get new ones and don't repeat my mistake. The old ones would not keep them tight. After the rocker arms where tightened I ran a 16.4. Still need to do some tuning but it really feels good. I know the power is there just have to unleash it with some good tuning.

The set up you are doing is almost identical to what I just did to my '92 RS. Right down to the 416 heads and L98 cam. I ran a 17.6 after the install but went to a 16.4 after some tuning and tightening the rocker arms. Make sure you use new bolts for the rocker arms. Don't repeat my mistake. The old one would not stay tight.

More tuning is in order for me. It feels great and I know the power is there, jsut have to unleash it.
