I know, I know, I know...

look, I know there's a MILLION +infinity threads about cold air/ram air for TBI, and the vast majority of them are the same.

I know that 80% of the people on here just think you should go with an open element setup, but I'm not one of those people.

What I'm looking for is a cold air/ram air setup that works with the tpi ducts, which of course is what everyone does, but I'm wonding was there an air box/plenum/whatever thingy that was on another tbi car(such as a corvette, caprice, truck) that would be workable onto a camaro without any real modification?

I don't mean you swerve-driver, I've seen yours so many times on here it's been burned into my mind forever.

I LOVE your setup, but I just can't see how I could make it.

I've seen something that resembled an off center square that I BELIEVE was on a tbi, it looked like a sideways "Z" where the top of the "Z" would be where the air came in, I was wondering if that came off another car that I could look for.

I've seen it on here, I swear it, but I can't find the picture or the thread now.

Can anyone help me out? I'm just looking for something along those lines, I don't want to do any major work, I just want to buy the part off another car, and connect the rest from a 91-92 tpi setup.

oh ya, and speaking of open elements, for you guys who use K&N, and for you guys who stick with paper elements for their added filtration and/or cheapness, apparently amsoil has a reusable air filter that outflows and outfilters K&N, and it's only 22 bucks, minus shipping.

their oil is some amazing stuff too, I personally am planning to get both oil and the filter from them soon, and I figured I'd spread the word about it.

google it, they've been getting some incredible reviews for ALL of their products.

anyway, thanks.

A caddy tbi hat from a '90-'91 will work, then a small section of 3" pvc pipe. That is what I run to the tpi cleaner, with gutted air boxes and ram air ducks. All you have to do is sand down the base of the caddy cleaner a bit. Also, make sure to grab the rubber piece that fits on the hat. Also, a z-28 grill is needed if you plan on a true ram air setup.

One day I will have pictures, unfortuantly engine setbacks are using all of my funds, so digital camera is outta the pictuer for now

thanks, thats a possibility, those caddy intakes are EXTREMELY common around here.

what about moving the stock air cleaner assembly over and popping it onto the tpi air duct things, I've seen several pictures of people doing it, but no real info.

all I really wanna know is how they connected the two together, what did they use.

I'm with you, im not a fan of the open element setup. There is a thread a few spaces up from this one about a guy who modified the dual snorkel setup from a tpi to work for tbi. Try that one, making sure to gut the airbox. https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=242054
