Engine: 350 L98
Transmission: 700 r4
swapping 350 outta chevy 1500
one of my buds wants to sell me a 350 outta a chevy 1500 p/u .. he says its a roller motor... for 500 bux.. what kind of horsepower can i expect.. from the motor.. hee says it has a carb on it now but i want to put my tpi on it.. also my posi is burnt .. will the new gain in horse from the 350 over the 305 be dangerous to my current rear?(thinking about an slp posi to put in..)

All your going to gain is a little mid range torque. The 350 was rated @ 195 hp and the 305 was 175hp. There are much easier and cheaper ways to gain 20 hp.
Trucks have roller blocks but not usually roller cams. The 92 350 I have has the tapped bosses but not roller cam. It has your standard flat tappet in it. Truck TBI heads are awful. Think about how restrictive the 305 is, put those heads(w/76cc chamber which lower the compression ratio to 8-8.5:1) on a 350 with a smaller cam, and HP peak is @ 3,800 rpm. All youv'e managed to do is kill your fuel economy and make your car slower.
