There are three wires. One for ground, one for 12v lead, and one for 02 harness tap. What brand gage do you have?

There should only be one wire left. I think it is purple? It has been awhile since I installed mine. Just follow the directions. That one wire left will be spliced into the wire harness right before the 02 connection.

so to hook it up you just splice it to the wire that goes between the O2 sensor and the O2 sensor hookup?

You wan't to splice it into the wire harness that is on the car and not the wire that is attached to the 02. You will detroy the 02 that way if you do.

I would have to check. I want to say purple but I am not sure honestly. Just find the 02 now and just look at the wire. Is there any reason you are having problems with the 02 harness location?

Sounds like you have it right. This gage is only for visual purposes and at best a geuss at WOT. Anything at part throttle and your O2 volts are going to be constantly changing. At WOT you should get a normal reading since the ECM does not really on the O2 and you will get a consistant reading. However, the stock O2 is only accurate to a few percent of stochiometic combustion. It is for eye candy only. I did not realize this until after I bought it and tried to make sence of the results. A little research on how the 02 works taught me a lesson. But hey, look at it this way; now you have some rediculous night rider device in your car.

Not sure exactly what you mean here. But how I dexcribed it is how it should behave on any TBI car.

if the car you hooked it up to before was carbed, you will get entirely diffrent readings.

the FI system works on a swinging 02 value. when the computer is adjusting the A/F it will not settle at .450mv's it will flucuate, it is designed to do this for emmisions, rich/lean/rich/lean/rich/lean, it does this to allow the cat. to work properly.

at WOT, you should be going for 850mv's that will be fairly rich on that gauge, but it is not very accurate, these stock o2 sensors are really only accruate in the 14.7:1 range, which you will only see while the car is cold, once it warms up and reaches closed loop, it will jump around.
