I don't have the best skills at this, but I drilled a wire into top of where fuel pump/and floater showing gallons of gas etc are lowered into gas tank with a locking top. Not the locking part but top it's self was drilled to clear a ground wire to connect direct any problems?

34 gallon tank run around 25 at the most at a time. .
