Cheap replacement injectors...

Hey everyone,
I think one of my injectors may be bad. I think it is making a ticking noise. Where is the cheapest place to get a replacement? I will be pulling this motor out within a year or two, so a used injector would be OK too.

Also, I know I can get a TBI from a 350 on E-bay that already has injectors in it. Would bolting this 350 TBI onto my 305 help the performance any? I already have an open element w/ K&N Filter, Edelbrock headers, and a Flowmaster cat=back.

Your best bet is to get a used injector out of a junk yard. look for ther ones that have the white and green on the top. The 350 TBI units are the exact same as the one you have on your 305 but it has larger injectors. Your stock unit will suffice until you have a nice set of heads and a health cam.

I'd say check the spray pattern of your injector first. These injectors tick, loud sometimes, that's just what they do. If its only ticking and you can see a good cone shaped spray out of them I wouldn't bother replacing the injector.

Bron brings up a good point I forgot to mention. Also, double check that one of the two prongs on top of the injector is not broken. I had a broekn prong that took me forever to diagnose because I didn't look hard enough. I have no idea how it broke but it did and the injector went bazerk.

But its SOOOOO loud. I have headers, a flowmaster and an open element air cleaner on the car and when the trans shifts into 3rd or 4th at low throttle.. All you can hear is this loud sound from the engine compartment. It almost sounds like one of my headers is leaking

Check for a hedder leak. A ticking sound is usually an exhaust leak.
