Symptoms of a computer dying?

Last night the car was finally running correctly and I was blowing though the partial throttle tuning. Today after work I burned a new chip before I drove the car, installed it, and I my SES light was blinking really quickly, which meant a bad burn in the past. I burned that same bin about 2 more times, then tried to burn a bin that was working last night, then tried to burn the ANTT bin twice and none of them worked. After I disconnected the battery and reset the computer the car would start but idle like I was down about two cylinders and running extremely rich, nor would it rev past 2400 rpm in neutral - no code though. Nothing changed mechanically between last night and tonight so the only thing I could come up with was possibly a bad computer? I have an autox on sunday that I dont want to miss and autozone carrys the computer for $71, but I dont want to spend that much money unless Im fairly certain that its my problem...

Thanks guys - as always.

Got a new computer - still does not run. Pulls a PROM error code. Ive tried about 10 proms including the ANTT and none work, maybe its my pocket programmer? I dont know, going to put on the stock tbi now, see if that does anything. Fighting this isnt fun, plus i'll miss my autox tomorrow

What E/EEProm/Flash chips are you using and how many do you have? Take teh suspect chips and see if they still verify. Sounds like the computer was doing what it was supposed to do but the chip may have been bad.
