Stock timing for 89 305 TBI

The factory setting is 0*. You can get away with 4 or 6 depending on what fuel you use and the condition of your motor. I used to run 4* with the stock heads and cam. I now run 8*.

Yeah, I've seen that, but I've read that there was a base timing degree change mid year. Like, in 1990 they started using 0* and pre-1990 used 6*. Though I'm not sure. Do you know definantly that the 0* base timing was used through all the years of the TBI? Even autozone.com has my 1989 TBI as 6*, so I'm not sure.
