Code 32, sometimes, and surging idle..

Hey guys.

Maybe you guys can help me out with this.
My car is a 89 TA with a 305 TBI. all emissions on the car are removed, AC removed as well. Sometimes on long highway drives ill get a code 32, which i understand is EGR? On long drives though ill see it come on, last for a minute or so then the SES light will go off! Lately though im getting this weird problem. If im stopped and on the breaks, the car will rev itself and try to move. Scary if im lightly on the breaks behind a car at a light or something. I have not seen this happen while it was in park, yet anyway. It may also be happening while driving, as in when im on the gas already it may give it some more gas by itself? Why is this happening?

Also, im leaving for wildwood(down the shore, wayyyyyyyyy down in NJ) the 23rd, its basicly a nice long drive in OD down the parkway but do you think my car is going to be affected by this? I plan to change the oil before i go and the car recently had a tuneb up(before this started) so i think i should be fine.e.

any suggestions?

The only way to really remove the EGR is to dissable it by setting it to come on at higher speeds in the chip. If not the car could be running lean whenever the EGR should be working. That could be causing your surge.

That is a good way of putting it I would suspect a sticking EGR valve. I would hood a vacuum source on it to see if it is still working. A code 32 on highway driving will happen to every GM vehicle at some point.

In your opinion, think it would drasticly effect the ride down the shore? I really dont but what do you think?

And i shoudl take a vac line from elsewere and put it there or what?

It can drastically effect the way the car drives if it hangs open for to long. All of those residual gasses aren't ideal for power but serve their purposes when intended. I haven't checked my EGR valve in years so I cannot remember the read-outs off the top of my head. Let me check on that.
