ESC or what???

I'm still having a few problems with my RS. Whether my base timing is set to 0*, 2*, or 4* I still am having the following problems...

1. Intermittent hesitation when accelerating (feels as if the spark is trying to catch up, and when it does I have power)

2. Chugging at lower RPMs especially in 5th gear at 50mph or anything under 55mph when going up hills.

I replaced all spark plugs with AC Delco Rapid Fires and all ignition components are MSD: Cap, Rotor, Blaster Coil, and Superconductors. Should I replace my ESC Module??? I am not getting any codes, but I don't know what else to do.

Does this problem occur at WOT? If not I would look at your 02 if it is old and has a lot of miles on it.

Sounds like possible detonation under load at lower speeds. If the computer *sees* detonation itll pull alot of timing. Youll also have retard with mechanical noise as well. The module will see it as knock and the ecm will retard the timing. My family buys alot of GM cars and the older 200k+ cars either get alot of crust in the combustion chambers or develop mechanical problems and the performance really plummets.

My car only has 71K and I have rebuilt the TBI and replaced every sensor on the unit (TPS, IAC). The car also has a new fuel filter and all. I have been running 89 octane with about a 3* advance base timing.
